With a lot of help from adults, we crossed the busy streets and made it over to HyVee.

You can see us working with the dietitian to put the QR codes throughout the store.

Yummy Yogurt Parfait

The district's nutritionist visited us today to make a yummy snack!

First spoon tablespoons of yogurt into a cup.

Add some fruit. 

Add some granola.

Enjoy!

National Nutrition Month!

We have completed our informative writing and presentation on a variety of foods! Kindergarten Health, Reading and Writing outcomes were integrated as students created little info-spots on why we should eat healthy! We will be posting the videos, via QR codes, at the West Broadway Hy-Vee on Friday afternoon. Look for the codes in the produce and meat sections as well as the bakery. Way to go Kinders!

Buddy class-- finishing our exploration on Jackson Pollack

Wow! Did you know that Jackson Pollack was known as a Drip Painter?
He would drip the paint with sticks or put holes in the can of paint. In Science, we are exploring Force and Motion. Students worked with their Second Grade buddies to create large canvas paintings (thank you to our wonderful parents who donated so much paint and sheets!!!) inspired by Mr. Pollock's work.

Force and Motion Unit starts today!

Students had experience with a variety of materials in a small group. By the end of the week students will have rotated through different stations to explore new materials.

Hy-Vee Dietitian visits Room 104

The nutritionist from Hy-Vee came over today to talk to us about eating fruits and vegetables.
